for the need for a second Fisher House in Denver!

Fisher House provides a "home away from home" for military families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury. Families do not pay to stay at a Fisher House. There are currently 61 Fisher Houses located on 23 military installations and 22 VA medical centers with more houses under construction or in design. Each house is designed to provide 8 to 21 suites. All are professionally furnished and decorated in the tone and style of the local region. The houses can accommodate 16 to 42 family members and feature a common kitchen, laundry facilities, spacious dining room and an inviting living room with library and toys for children.

Denver Fisher House serves a nine state area that includes: Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Western Kansas, Western Nebraska, Eastern Nevada, Southeastern Idaho, Western North Dakota. With the building of the new Denver VA Medical Center, the Department of Veterans Affairs has recognized the need for an additional Fisher House. Our "Second House" will be built on the campus of the new VA hospital when it is completed in 2015. The Denver Fisher House Foundation is committed to raising $3,000,000 as our portion of the construction cost.
